Abstract: Marquis de Sadе’s discourse of violence is subordinated to the task of liberating man not only from all the values and patterns embedded in his con-sciousness and actions by Another, but also from the tyranny of his own Ego. The sovereign person of Sadе is the ability of the total destruction of Nature and the af-firmation of Nothingness. The criterion for existence and non-existence, truth and falsehood is the libertine body. The libertine’s imagination exhausts itself in the body, the body is exhausted in orgasm, orgasm exhausts the potential of matter, and matter is converted into Nothingness.
