Name: Integrity vs. coherence: the problem of understanding of text

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problems of understanding of text, to the phenomena of integrity, to the relationship between integrity and coherence in the perception of the text. These issues are discussed in cognitive and communicative aspects, in the context of active processes of text comprehension and perception of communicative interaction subjects. The basic idea of the article is the position about productivity of overcoming gap between integrity and coherence in the pro-cess of text understanding. Specially organized surveillance processes of overcom-ing connectivity gaps is, on the one hand, an instrument of discovering of the phe-nomena of integrity as a product of the activity, on the other hand – a method of teaching understanding. These problems are revealed 1) with the example of the technology of historical thinking forming, where a basis for understanding historical events is constituted of opposed positions, describing the event from different per-spectives, 2) with the example of psycholinguistic approach to the construction technology of text comprehension by keywords and building conceptually meaning-ful sense in the process of its «otselostneniya» and simultaneous overcoming gaps of text connectivity.
