ArticleName: The Textual Cobweb of F. Iskander’s Philosophical Tale “Rabbits and Boas”: Linguistic Means and Author’s Intentions Authors: Tatiana A. Tripolskaya Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation
Abstract: The article examines the author’s particular technique of creating a textual network that would maximally reflect the intention of presenting the model of “an aggressive and inert world from which it is practically impossible to escape”. A peculiarity of the linguistic organization of F. Iskander’s text is the apparent lexical and syntactic redundancy, the abundance of repetitions of various kinds, which seem to slow down the narrative, give the text a particular monotonous and leisurely rhythm, a kind of going round in circles, but the attempt to reduce the text fragment even slightly inevitably leads to a significant loss of meaning In addition to organizing the integrity and coherence of the text, repetitions perform the following test functions: highlighting the key words that represent the main components of the author’s artistic image of the world (the key lexemes of the text acquire new meanings in multiple repetitions); forming semantic densifications that do not represent the density of events, but only the density of the text; creating and updating false antitheses, including multiple instances of introducing modus indicators (on the one hand / on the other hand, etc.), as well as a special kind of form. The real absence of opposing positions, the meaninglessness of seemingly differently directed actions, the absence of any internal movement make the text practically hermetically closed.
