Abstract:

In the context of communicative eventfulness, ideas about the contemplative act are systematized and its specific features are highlighted. The contemplative type of attitude (intentional-interested attention to something) is considered, as well as the methods of its linguistic and textual appearance; Based on the analysis of the activity/passivity of the subject and object, their intersubjective basis of interaction is substantiated. Three types of oppositions are introduced to outline the boundaries of the contemplative situation: contemplation – action, contemplation – knowledge, contemplation – interpretation. The reflection of the contemplative principle in scientific and artistic discourses is explored. Contemplation is introduced into the system of stages of humanitarian knowledge as its first step. The dual role of contemplation is determined: its initial and final-through function in cognitive-semiotic processes.

Keywords: eventfulness of contemplation, activity/passivity of the observer, reflection of the contemplative act, text formation, stages of cognition and functions of contemplation
