Abstract: The article reveals the typological features of the language of translated poetry in comparison with the language of original poetry, the language of advertising and the media, addresses a number of language options, allowing to highlight this class of texts as a special discursive practice. The most important of them is the ability of modern translated poetic texts to reflect the potentiality of the receiving language. The translations of modern poetry is characterized by a high concentration of potential words and forms. It is also detected such important features of translated poetry texts as a lack of borrowed linguistic elements (lexemes, morphemes, etc.) and a small number of occasional forms. In modern translated poetry works conscious mechanism of the potentiation effect, aiming at the exclusive use of funds of the receiving language and implementing new word forms, developing resources inherent in language system. Modern translated poetry is a particular discursive practice in which the most evidently realizes phenomenon of potentiality, conditioned by linguistic factors, as well as specific model of addressing on the verge of normal communication and poetic autocommunication.
